Before starting to weave, rattan should be soaked, preferably in lukewarm water, to make it flexible and prevent it from breaking. Do not leave rattan submerged in water for too long, as this may cause it to become grey and brittle. Once you have finished working with rattan, dry it thoroughly. Store rattan away from light. Weight difference: ±7%
