Flat materials can be found under the name rattan tape (pedig band). This flat rattan has a completely flat cross-section. The front side is glossy, while the back side is rougher. Rattan tape tends to be hairier, so after weaving a basket, the fibers are lightly singed to smooth the surface.

Do not store rattan core or rattan tape in direct light. With proper storage, rattan materials can be kept for more than 5 years.

Rattan is a natural material, and therefore 100% quality cannot be guaranteed. Even though we conduct annual quality inspections and continually improve every step of production, packaging, storage, and transport together with the manufacturer, it is impossible to prevent an occasional defective strand from appearing among high-quality material. If the vine touches the ground in some places, the rattan may break at those points.
